Hey Remember This

Comprises ….

Ana-Louise Hammond (Vibraphone)
John Pope (Electric Bass)
Diji Solanke (Drums)

Genre-ambivalent, semi-improvised, nostalgia-resistant, Hey Remember This is an instrumental trio from Newcastle that seems to have come unstuck in time. Ana-Louise Hammond (vibraphone) along with John Pope (electric bass) and Diji Solanke (drums), brings a collection of new music focuses on texture and rhythm, interlocking patterns or irregular time signatures.

When we find ourselves assailed on all sides by demands to recollect The Old Days, and to align our futures with imagined pasts, Hey Remember This sets out a stall somewhere within the space of "What if we didn't do that?"

The debut performance of this brand new Tyneside band inspired by groups like Square Peg Round Hole, Jaga Jazzist, and the Kraken Quartet

A brand new initiative from Elder Beer with Jazz North East bringing jazz to Heaton on the second Wednesday of every month from April - October 2026.
