Zoe Gilby, daughter of well know North East trumpeter and arranger Mike Gilby, has over the past few years established herself as probably the most stylish and distinctive young vocalist in the region, and is starting to build a national and even international reputation. US magazine 'AllAboutJazz' has described her as having "already found her own voice, bringing a unique perspective to her material that distinguishes her from classic singers . . . as well as her contemporary peers".
