French guitarist Julien Desprez graduated from the Montreuil Academy of Music with a gold medal, after which he quickly established himself as a leading member of the new young jazz avant garde, taking the first prize at the 2007 'La Défence Jazz Festival'. He has played with major French and international artists such as François Jeanneau, Benoit Delbecq and Charlie Haden, and is also very much involved in the Paris jazz/metal scene with groups such as 'DDJ' and 'Q'.
