Guitarist George Burt started his playing career as a folk musician (and can still do a mean ceilidh when the occasion demands!), but is now firmly estabished as a superb free improviser, possibly the true heir to the mantle of Derek Bailey. He has worked with saxophonist Phil Bancroft and pianist Bill Wells in the power-trio 'Bill George & Tom's Suburban Adventure', but his main platform is the band he co-leads with Raymond Macdonald, which has produced a series of critically acclaimed CDs with such legendary collaborators as Lol Coxhill and Keith Tippett. He is also, with Macdonald, one of the founder memers of the Glasgow Improvisers Orchestra.
