Trevor Tomkins got his first professional job as a member of the Don Rendell-Ian Carr Quintet in 1963, and stayed with it until it was disbanded in 1969. Since then he has worked at one time or another with most of the UK's leading jazz musicians, as well as supporting visiting American stars at Ronnie Scott's Club.
