While Chris Stout is best known for his work on the Scottish folk scene (his band Fiddlers' Bid has been called "the best Celtic fiddle band in the world"), he is equally at home in a jazz context. Another of his bands, the Chris Stout Quintet, includes Tyneside bassist Neil Harland, and he is an important member of the award winning (and indisputably jazzy) Graeme Stephen Sextet.
