One of the busiest and most versatile players on the British jazz scene, Alan Barnes originally came to prominence with the Tommy Chase group in the 1980s, and subsequently spent time with Humphrey Lyttelton. Equally at home in all styles from swing to bop, he now leads several different bands of his own, and is in great demand as a performer at festivals throughout the country.
