Reem Kelani is not a conventional jazz singer, but has dedicated herself to the collection and interpretation of the traditional songs of her Palestinian homeland. But the "subtle vocal ornamentations" that she applies to the songs have all the hallmarks of the very finest jazz singing, and she regularly works with many of the UK's finest jazz musicians. She has played to an entranced audience at the Appleby Jazz Festival, and her debut CD 'Sprinting Gazelle' was rapturously received by both jazz and world music critics.
